Why can't TV news bulletins be more like 'Hungry Beast'?

I don't mean that the networks ought to copy Hungry Beast's tone, which often tends toward the smug and self-righteous.

But take a look at Hungry Beast's segment on the global fashion phenomenon Zara, which screened last night. Notice the amount of data they cram in to three minutes, in an easily digestible style.

By contrast, the evening news bulletins convey very few facts and almost never use graphics. On an average night, you can be almost certain that the first map you will see on the screen will be during the weather segment. And graphs only ever appear in the minute-or-so devoted to finance.
