Pakistan: Recommended reading

The International Crisis Group has a new report on Pakistan, about what to do post Bhutto's death. It was prepared in record time, and is very good. I also recommend strongly a long piece by Frederic Grare on the Carnegie website, called Rethinking Western Strategies Towards Pakistan, from mid-last year -- very prescient about what needs to be done now. The common thread of these two pieces is the need to ease the military out of its dominant position in Pakistani politics.
