The FT's Alphaville blog carries a chart showing that, 'in terms of the share of global economic activity,  the G7 has now been overtaken by the G12 — namely the Brics plus South Korea, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa and Australia...this is the first such cross-over in well over one hundred years.'
