The 5-minute Lowy Lunch: What makes a terrorist?

As Sam said yesterday, we've had some technical problems and we're now catching up on our 5-minute lunch interviews. I recorded this one on 27 August with Dr Adam Dolnik, Director of Research Programs and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Transnational Crime Prevention at the University of Wollongong.

What makes a terrorist? How likely is it that terrorists will be able to carry out a WMD attack? Can you negotiate with terrorists? Adam Dolnik had some fascinating insights to share at Wednesday Lowy Lunch on all these subjects. (He also demonstrated the peculiar ability to incorporate humour into a subject area that doesn't exactly lend itself to the easy gag). To get a taste of Adam's talk, listen to the 5-minute interview below. Once you've been tempted, the full talk is available here.
