Indonesia's democratisation and economic development have been tremendously beneficial developments for Australia.

But Josh Frydenberg, former senior adviser to Foreign Minister Alexander Downer and Prime Minister John Howard and now the Liberal Party member for the federal seat of Kooyong, warned the Lowy Institute's lunch audience on Wednesday that we may be missing a great opportunity to deepen our ties with this rising power.
