Lowy Institute’s China Changing Lecture to be presented by eminent Chinese economist Dr David Daokui Li

Eminent Chinese economist Dr David Daokui Li will present the Lowy Institute’s annual China Changing Lecture on Thursday 19 April 2012.

In 2010 Professor Li of Tsinghua University was appointed to the monetary policy committee of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC).

In this year’s lecture Professor Li will discuss China’s role in the changing world economy. The title of his lecture is “Is China Ready for Global Economic Leadership?”.

The lecture will offer fresh insights into China’s global economic position as observed through the eyes of one of China’s best and brightest economic minds.

Professor Li’s background

In addition to his role at PBOC, Professor Li is Mansfield Freeman Chair Professor of Economics, Director of the Centre for China in the World Economy and Head of the Department of Finance of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University. Li holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University.

The 2012 China Changing Lecture No. 3 is supported by the Commonwealth Government through the Australia-China Council of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
